Incense and candles

So today I spent my ENTIRE day painting a board for the sensory room at work. I bought some funky little circle and stick lights from IKEA and thought I could incorporate them in a mural...easy. Well I obviously over estimated my artistic talent. I started with enthusiasm, choosing my colours and slapping on the paint. Tip no 1. Always start with the background. I thought I would do the flowers first so that I could adjust the size to fit the lights but alas, this just meant I had to paint the background in the fiddly bits around the flowers. And then I realised one of the flowers was higher than the other and therefore could not float in the sky...so the dirt mound was born down the bottom and that's when it all went down hill (pardon the pun). Tip no 2. Don't paint a dirty great section of brown when your aim is to keep things colourful! I painted in some grass to soften it up, which helped a bit but was still disappointing.

So to alleviate my angst over this flop, I turned on the bubble tube, light net, optic shower, projector and mirror ball in the sensory room and swung high on the platform swing for five minutes!

Tonight I've decided to distract myself and cook roast chicken with roast beetroot, carrot, potato and fennel. I also mopped the floor and have lit up the candles and incense. Maybe I'll have a creative dream tonight about how to fix it.
